Services

From propeller design to hull line design, from propulsive efficiency improvement to ship resistance reduction, Hidden Dragon Marine (HDM) is ready to provide comprehensive services to help your ship running more efficient and more safe.

New Propeller Design

Our experienced naval architects provide tailor-made propeller design solutions that best fit your ship regarding efficiency, cavitation, strength, as well as matching of engines.

Propeller Retrofitting

Due to the Energy Efficiency eXisting ship Index (EEXI) requirements, many existing ships need to do something immediately. Propeller retrofitting with Engine Power Limitation (EPL) is a cost-effective solution for EEXI compliance.

Propeller Modification

Trailing edge modification is the right solution if your existing ship subject to insufficient light running margin (LRM).

Resistance and Power Prediction

A well-designed and properly powered propulsion system is essential for ensuring smooth and efficient ship operations. We can provide accurate resistance and power predictions in early ship design stage thanks to our long-established experience and numeral ship database.

Hull Lines Design

Our hull line design service offers a comprehensive solution for designing and optimizing the shape of your ship. Our team of experts utilizes advanced software and techniques to create a hull line that meets your specific requirements. We carefully consider factors such as resistance, propulsive efficiency, and general arrangements to ensure that the hull line design is both functional and aesthetically pleasing.

Sea-keeping Analysis

This service involves assessing the ship's ability in waves, considering factors such as motion sickness, slamming, and green water on deck. The response amplitude operator (RAO) of six degree of freedom are evaluated, by utilizing advanced simulation techniques and hydrodynamic models, seakeeping analysis provides valuable insights into the vessel's behavior, stability, and structural integrity.

Model Testing

Despite enormous advances made in computational methods, model testing is still the most reliable way of predicting resistance and powering requirements for a real ship. Our commercial services within ship model testing can therefore include result analysis and guidance for hull form and propulsion optimization based on our extensive database.

TVC and SAC

Since the change in mass and inertia of propeller leads to change in bending line and bearing load distribution and dynamic torsional stress behaviour of the propulsion line, Torsional Vibration Calculation (TVC) and Shafting Alignment Calculation (SAC) of existing ship need to be re-considered for the propeller retrofitting projects. We can provide TVC and SAC services to meet customer needs in this aspect.
